GROUP THEORY CLASSES

WE ARE GATHERING NAMES OF STUDENTS

FOR GROUP THEORY CLASSES AS UNDERSTANDING IS CREATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

REASONS FOR ATTENDING A GROUP THEORY CLASS ARE - 

1. Students learn from each other through group interaction
2. Students' own learning is reinforced by hearing others play
3. Listening skills are sharpened by hearing others play regularly
4. Rhythmic development is stronger since group exercises produce a deeper 'feeling of pulse' and more accurate rhythm.
5. Sight reading improves when practiced in groups that use the 'keep going no matter what' approach
6. Greater creativity is fostered, for example in composition because it is much more gratifying when one's works are played for peers
7. Students play regularly in front of an 'audience', which helps them become more relaxed and comfortable when performing for people outside their lessons.

• Music study enhances school readiness, fine motor control, use of symbol systems, following directions, concentration, memory, perserverence, visual and aural discrimination, organizational skills, task completion, and goal setting

• Music encourages abstract thought and stimulates right-brain activities - synthesis, creativity and innovation - skills that are not covered adequately by the school curriculum.

• Music study develops attention span and concentration level

• Music study builds self-esteem and develops initiative
